I am looking to maximize my travel points this year and I am confused by all the different offers out there. In Canada, it seems like the American Express Cobalt is still king for food and groceries, but I am wondering if there is something better for actual flights.

My brother lives in the US and he is always bragging about his Chase Sapphire Reserve. I wish we had something that competitive up here. I travel between Toronto and New York often for work, so I want something that earns well on both sides of the border.

Does anyone have a strategy for stacking points? I have been looking at the Aeroplan cards from TD and CIBC but I am not sure if I want to be locked into one airline.

I would love to hear from anyone who has successfully funded a whole vacation just using points. What is your go-to card for 2026?
