Best Casein Protein for Overnight Muscle Protein Synthesis
I am looking for the best casein protein for overnight muscle protein synthesis to help with my recovery. I have heard that casein is better than whey before bed because it digests much slower and provides a steady stream of amino acids throughout the night. I am in the US and I am currently bulking.
I have been looking at Dymatize Elite Casein and the Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard version. I want something that doesn't clump up too much and actually tastes good as a pudding. I am trying to maximize my gains while I am sleeping so I can hit some new PRs next month.
Do you think a pre bed protein shake is necessary for growth? I am curious if you have noticed a difference in your recovery or muscle fullness after adding casein to your routine. I would love to hear your favorite flavors and how you mix it for the best consistency!
