Best Active Recovery Routine for Leg Day Soreness
I did a massive leg session two days ago and I can barely walk down the stairs today. I am looking for the best active recovery routine for leg day soreness that does not involve more squats. I am thinking about some very light walking or maybe a slow ride on a recumbent bike at the gym.
I have heard that getting the blood flowing to the legs is the fastest way to flush out the metabolic waste and reduce the pain. I am also wondering if I should do some light stretching or if that will just irritate the micro tears in the muscle. I have been using some topical magnesium spray but it is not doing much for the deep ache.
What is your go to strategy for surviving the day after a brutal leg day? I am in the US and I have a physical job so I need to find a way to stay mobile. If you have a specific set of movements that helps you feel human again please share them with me!
