Best 5x5 Program for Beginners to Build Strength Fast

I am looking to start a new routine and I keep hearing about the 5x5 method. I have looked at StrongLifts and Starting Strength but I am not sure which is actually the best 5x5 program for beginners who want to see quick results.
I have been going to a local gym here in Ohio and I feel like I am just spinning my wheels with random machines. I want to focus on the big three lifts and really build a solid foundation of strength.
Has anyone here followed a specific 5x5 plan that they found more effective than the others? I am worried about hitting a plateau early on if I do not pick the right one. Any advice on how to manage the weight jumps each week would be amazing.
