I have been hearing a lot about LISS or low intensity steady state cardio lately as a recovery tool. I am curious about the benefits of low intensity steady state cardio for recovery compared to just taking a total day off. I have been doing some slow walking on the treadmill at an incline and I find that I feel much better the next day.

It seems like it helps with blood flow and calorie burning without putting a lot of stress on the central nervous system. I am wondering how long these sessions should be to get the recovery benefits. Is thirty minutes enough or should I be aiming for an hour? I do not want to burn myself out but I want to stay active.

Do you guys find that LISS helps you recover from heavy lifting faster? I am in the UK and I am trying to lean out a bit while still getting stronger in the gym. I would love to hear how you incorporate low intensity cardio into your weekly schedule without it feeling like a chore.
