I have been lifting for about six months now at a gym in South London and I am thinking about getting my first leather belt. The Rogue Ohio belt looks amazing but the price is quite high once you factor in the shipping and customs fees to the UK.

I am mainly doing squats and deadlifts and I feel like my core could use the extra support. I have seen some cheaper nylon belts at the local sports shop but I have heard they are not very durable. I want to buy something that will last me for years rather than months.

Is the quality of the leather actually worth the extra money for someone who is not yet moving massive weights? I am currently squatting eighty kilograms and deadlifting one hundred. I would love to hear if any beginners here made the jump to a high end belt early on.
