Are Drop Sets Effective for Bicep Peaks and Growth

I am obsessed with getting better bicep peaks and I have started incorporating drop sets into every single arm workout. I start with a heavy weight for 8 reps, then immediately drop 20 percent and go to failure, then drop again.
The pump is absolutely insane but I am not sure if this is actually helping with long term muscle fiber recruitment or if I am just chasing a temporary feeling. I live in Toronto and the winters here make it easy to stay in the gym for hours, so I have the time to do them.
Does anyone have a specific bicep drop set routine that they love? I have been using the EZ bar and some Hammer Strength machines. I would love to hear if you think they are essential for that peaked look or just an optional extra.
